After the KarizmaXMR 210 and Mavrick 440, the company has embarked into a different league altogether: the 250cc premium space, and with it bring something noticeably big into this segment, since Xtreme 250R houses Hero’s most powerful engine to date. The step-up from the tank to rider seat looks a bit odd; the graphics also seem to have been applied in a random manner.

Quality-wise, this bike has slight improvements to work on. The welds near the headstock do not look appealing, but they are something that can’t be seen with the naked eye for some. But you will find that the switchgear and other touch points feel decent enough.

Features & Prices: Fair-yet-very-basic

The Xtreme 250R is priced reasonably at ₹1.80 lakh (ex-showroom), quite below the Suzuki Gixxer 250 (₹198,000-₹217,000) and the KTM 250 Duke (₹228,000). However, very basic features due to lower pricing.

No TFT instrumentation, no quickshifter, the instrument console is just the same boring LCD monochrome display we saw in the Karizma. It has all-LED lighting, and dual-channel ABS is something that serves well in this segment.

So what does this bike offer? If you’re after a powerful, sporty motorcycle under the ₹2 lakh mark, Hero Xtreme 250R is your espousal. More potent than the Yamaha R15 yet not too flabby like NS400Z! With a wise dynamic, this Hero Xtreme 250R offering certainly shifts the brand methods. Clearly, Hero no longer wants to restrain itself to only commuter bikes. Actually, the bike has a fair chance for improvement, in terms of refinement and finishing but then again, for one who would consider something reasonable and affordable, it looks like an option worth consideration.
